(Dette er vores fælles ansøgning til Roskilde Festivals blog - den er pr. dags dato også fremsendt på mail)
We are Mathilde and Samantha - two Danish girls living in Copenhagen, who are very curious, dedicated and passionate about music, art, vintage, fashion, city life and travelling.
We have been attending Roskilde Festival since we were in our teens and we have not been able to stay away since. We are now 22 and 23 years old (23 and 24 by the time of Roskilde 2010) and this year will be Mathilde's 8th time, and Sam's 5th.
Since we are applying for the new Roskilde blog, we thought it would be obvious to post our application as a blog entry. We already blog together under the alias Footloose & FancyFree at http://www.footloosefancyfree .dk, but since our blog is in Danish we decided to write our application in English to show we are fluent and articulate.
We have added a homemade video-collage with photos and clips from our earlier Roskilde Festivals. We are both students in the design field and are therefore very visual. We love to supply our blog entries with photos, videos or youtube clips trying to support the text with atmosphere.
Our music taste is very alike and wide. As a matter of fact, it is the 'subject' we have the most blogposts about: http://footloosing.blogspot.com/search/label/musik
We like everything from small Swedish indie bands, New York hipsters like Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Vampire Weekend to oldies but goldies such as Joy Division, The Cure, The Smiths and Bob Dylan. We even dressed up as David Bowie and Lady GaGa for the Danish Fastelavn last weekend.
At this point of the Roskilde 2010 program, we are especially looking forward The Kissaway Trail, Muse, Pavement, The Rumour Said Fire, The Temper Trap, and as you can probably guess we are affected by an incurable love to the indie music, and hope to see Fanfarlo, The Antlers, Animal Collective, Bon Iver, Beach House, The Drums, Passion Pit, The Strokes (again) or the much awaited Bowie concert!
We are the kind of festival goers who believe it is a very important part of Roskilde Festival to stay in line for hours, fighting for the good tent spot, taking pictures of our Converse shoes "before and after Roskilde" - and yes, we even survived the rain in 2007.
We are all about meeting new people, hanging out at the agoras, gathering friends for a movie in the cinema, walking to the other end of the camping area for the right party, kissing in the moonlight or watching the sunrise with your best friends, buried in your sleeping bags. Of course, the bad hangovers are an obligatory part as well.
We love to accidentally end up at a concert with a small unknown indieband, discovering new tunes and dancing the night away. Running between concerts and singing along with the crowd at the Orange stage, forgetting about time and place in that very special week of July, because you never know what will happen at Roskilde Festival - and that is the beauty of it all.
We aim to tell the readers our Roskilde 2010 story, what we experience and capture the atmosphere in the best week of the year.
Yours truly,
Mathilde & Samantha.
